💜 A - Z 💜

There are so many terms used in the Psychic & Spiritual world and it can get quite confusing. What I have tried to do in this section is bring a little more understanding to most of the terms. As time goes on others will come to mind that I feel should be added.

As you are reading through this section, you may come accross descriptions that resonate with you but you may not have realised that they are part of your development or that they even have specific terms.

I hope that you find ths section useful and don't forget that I can assist you, on a 1:1 basis, with any areas listed that you feel drawn to or need help developing further.

Whilst this is quite a comprehensive list, it is by no means a complete glossary of ALL terminology, but it is a very good place to start.

AURA

An aura is an energy field that emanates from and surrounds the bodies of all living thing. Some psychics are able to see this aura and can interpret the physical and/or mental health of a living being by reading that aura. This is called 'Auric Sight' or 'Auric Vision'. Although there are no hard and fast rules that apply to the colours within the aura, here is the rule of thumb guide that most psychics,  who specialise in this field, work by

  • Bright Red :Physical body - Anger - Force
  • Dark Red :Passion and sensuality
  • Brown :Greed
  • Yellow :Wellbeing - High intellectual activity
  • Purple :Spirituality and intuition
  • Bright Green : Dishonesty and jealousy
  • Dark Green :Sympathy
  • Intense White :Seen just before a person dies
  • Blue :Spirituality - Religious devotion

AUTOMATIC WRITING

Also known as Psychography, this is a type of divination that allows a psychic to produce written word without consciously writing. Some believe that it is connection with spirit giving written messages, others believe that it is coming from deep within.  This usually takes place once the practitioner is in a state of meditation, they hold a pen or pencil to a piece of plain paper and allow the hand to move freely with no conscious movement from the practitioner.

CHAKRAS

The seven chakras are the energy centres within the body through which energy flows. Each chakra has a specific area in the body, a specific colour and a specific representation.

THE ROOT CHAKRA is red in colour and is situated at the base of the spine in the area of the coccyx or tailbone. This chakra represents foundation and grounding.

THE SACRAL CHAKRA is orange in colour and is situated roughly 2 inches below the naval and roughly 2 inches in. This chakra represents our connection to new spiritual experiences.

THE SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA is yellow in colour and is situated 3 - 4 inches below the bottom of the sternum or breast bone. This chakra represents confidence and self control.

THE HEART CHAKRA is green in colour and is situated just to the left of the sternum or breastbone, in the centre of the chest. This chakra represents love and compassion.

THE THROAT CHAKRA is blue in colour and is situated in the throat, roughly in the area of the Adam's apple. This chakra represents communication.

THE THIRD EYE CHAKRA is violet or purple in colour and is situated about 1 inch above the eyes in the centre of the forehead. This chakra represents intuition and the ability to 'sense' spirit.

THE CROWN CHAKRA  is white in colour and is situated at the very top of the head. This chakra represents spiritual connection.

CHANNELLING

The process by which a person becomes a conduit for deceased beings (human or animal) with the intent to bring forth messages from the spirit world. This is usually carried out by a medium or psychic after reaching a level of altered consciousness following meditation.  It can take the form of verbal or written communication from spirit through the chaneller or the channeller can allow the spirit to completely enter their body to bring forward messages.

CLAIRALIENCE

Literally translatd to 'Clear Smelling', it is the ability to receive odours or smells without the source of that smell being present. Quite often this is linked to a loved one that has passed. Common smells are aftershave/perfume, pipe or cigarette tobacco, flowers and even certain food smells.

CLAIRAUDIENCE

Literally translated to 'Clear Hearing', it is the ability to hear things without the sorce of that sound being present.  A clairaudient would hear things like voices, music, singing or the familiar sound of places (fairground, beach, football pitch etc.).

CLAIRCOGNIZANCE

Literally translated to 'Clear Knowing', it is the ability for a person to receive psychic information and not know how they know it. It can be in the form of a psychic 'flash' or a fully formed thought, insight or 'knowing' of something that they have no previous knowledge of.

CLAIRGUSTANCE

Literally translated to 'Clear Tasting', it is the ability for a person to perceive the taste of a substance without putting anything in their mouth. The ability to taste through psychic senses rather than the physical senses.

CLAIRSENTIENCE

Literally translated to 'Clear Sensing' or 'Clear Feeling', it is the ability to gain the impression of a person, place, animal or object just by being in their presence or by touching them (holding a persons hand). Can be used by a psychic to gain knowledge of past, present and future. A psychic can also gain knowledge from houses, buildings or even open spaces just by walking around them. This is a latent ability that we all have,  but psychics have recognised this ability and expanded on it.

CLAIRVOYANCE

Literally translated to 'Clear Vision', it is the most commonly used  term for anyone that is a psychic medium.  Also known as 'Second Sight' or 'Sixth Sense', it is the ability to 'see' objects, events, people or images without using the normal five senses. Clairvoyance can be described as an inner vision or ability to see past the material world into the spirit world. There are five main abilities that come under the heading of Clairvoyance; Clairalience, Clairaudience, Claircognizance, Clairgustance and Clairsentience, all of which are listed above, in alphabetical order.

CRYSTAL BALL

A spherical ball usually made of Quartz Crystal, this is a form of Divination. It can also be referred to as Scrying. A psychic will stare into a crystal ball once in a state of altered consciousness following meditation and be able to see images in the ball that could relate to the past, present or future of the sitter/questioner.

DOWSING

This is another form of Divination where the practitioner uses their chosen 'Dowsing Tool' to gain yes or no answers to specific questions. The most common Dowsing Tools are Pendulums or Dowsing/Divining Rods. They can be used to locate missing items or even missing people. UK water authorities still use dowsing to find water sources or leaks in pipework hidden underground.

DIVINATION

Tarot Cards, Crystal Balls, Scrying, Dowsing Rods and Tea Leaves are traditionally associated with 'Fortune Telling' and they come under the term Divination. In reality these items, along with others and psychic ability are used by psychics to uncover hidden knowledge about people,  places and objects that were previously unknown to the psychic.

GROUNDING

This term can be used for many aspects of anyones life, but for our purpose we will look at Grounding during meditation. Just before any kind of meditation work, maybe pathworking or to open chakras, it is important to 'Ground' yourself, to ensure that you are totally grounded in the real world, to be totally aware of your surroundings and remain in full control of your mind and body at all times. There are many grounding techniques that people use but they usually involve visualising roots from the soles of your feet or a tail gowing from the base of your spine going deep into the earth, literally 'Grounding' you. A good development practitioner will help you with achieving the sense of being grounded.
